FIDM-week 6

FIDM Orange County Campus lobby

So I began FIDM the second week in October, and it has flown by! I am going on week 6 in school, majoring in Fashion Design at both the San Diego and Orange County campuses.  I thought I would try to write a bit about what has been going on since I have a few moments in this crazy time!  I am taking 4 classes: Color & Design Theory, Industry Sewing, History of Costume and Fashion Sketching I.  In Color & Design Theory we are learning about color intensity, History of Costume we are learning about the fashions of the Renaissance times, Sewing we are sewing a blouse with princess seams, and Sketching we are learning how to sketch faces and details after learning how to sketch bodies from the front, side, 3/4 and back views.  The work that is involved in all of the classes has GREATLY exceeded my expectations.  I have been constantly doing homework and projects from the day that classes began!  It is so different than any other year/college that I have been to because although it is a LOT more work, it is where my passion lies so it doesn’t seem like bad work.  I am so excited to learn even more than I already have and I will try to update on my progress in school!  Really, a DREAM come true…
